Deluxe Silk combines 800-fill-power European goose down, a 600-thread-count Egyptian cotton and silk shell, and baffle-box construction. These are the specific materials and construction behind its lofty fill and smooth, silky feel.
All three options use 800-fill-power goose down. Light is the starting point for warm rooms and sleepers who prefer less insulation; All Season provides a middle level of warmth; Ultra Warm is the fullest option for cool rooms and cold sleepers. Fill power alone does not determine warmth: the amount of fill, comforter size and room conditions also matter.
Fill power measures the volume occupied by a given weight of down under standardized test conditions. An 800-fill-power rating describes lofty down. It is different from fill weight, which is the amount of down inside the comforter; choose the warmth level to suit your room and sleeping preferences.
The insulation is European goose down. Silk is part of the Egyptian cotton and silk outer shell. This is a goose down comforter with a silk-cotton shell, so shoppers comparing it with silk-filled bedding should compare both the fill and the shell.
The outer shell is a 600-thread-count Egyptian cotton and silk blend with a smooth sateen finish. The shell is the fabric that surrounds the down; its composition is separate from the goose down fill.
